DAY 1:
Individual arrival to Spitsbergen Airport. Take the airport bus to the hotel (NOK 60 – not included). The bus leaves the airport after each flight arrival when the luggage has come out. If time permits start of a 2 hours sightseeing tour with local guide of Longyearbyen and its vicinity. The town is located 100 km into the long Icefjord on the west coast of the island Spitsbergen and was founded by the American John Longyear in year 1906. In year 1916 it was taken over by Norwegians. Start by car in the Longyear valley and explore the town before heading out to Adventdalen towards Mine 7. Visit the area around the airport and Hotellneset. The guide will tell you about the attractions and landscape.

DAY 2:
Breakfast at the hotel. Today leave for at snowmobile safari to Tempelfjorden with its magnificent glacier front (duration 7 hours). You will be given an introduction in how to drive a snowmobile before setting off towards Tempelfjorden. The usual route takes us through Adventdalen, onwards through Eskerdalen before entering Sassendalen. Alternatively we go through Helvetiadalen and De Geerdalen and down towards Sassenfjorden. We ride up towards the ragged glacier face of the Tuna and Von Post glacier which is frozen in the ice covered sea, and have lunch in Tempelfjorden. If the weather is nice we can select a different route for the return journey.

DAY 3:
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will get the chance to drive your own dog team through Bolterdalens exiting and varied landscape. You will be picked you up from your hotel and driven out to Bolterdalen, where everyone will receive an exposure suit, boots, mittens, hat and buff for the tour. The guide will give the guests an introduction to the mysteries of dogsledding and help everyone to harness the dogs and fasten them to the sleds. The dogs will be noisy before we start out, but as soon as we head off they will be silent. The guide will drive first along with two guests, and the following sleds will each be driven by two guests. We follow the riverbed as it meanders back and forth into Bolterdalen, surrounded by beautiful mountains. By the moraine we may gain some speed between the mounds of stone. Reindeer are often seen on this tour, and sometimes Svalbard grouse and Polar foxes as well. We will stop several times during the tour to take pictures and pat the dogs. At the Scott Turner Glacier we will turn the sleds and set a course for the dog yards. On our return we will help to unharness the dogs, before the guide serves a cup of tea and coffee, and shows us the newest litter of puppies.

DAY 4:
Breakfast at the hotel. Another exiting day awaits you with an excursion to the Ice caves. From the big Longyear glacier right outside town, we descend into the ice and enter a fascinating cave. Equipped with a headlamp we walk in along the passages formed by the melted water under the glacier. Fascinating formations of ice and stones is a breathtaking experience. The ice and rock formations are astonishing, but be aware that you may have to crawl at certain places. We provide all the equipment you need and our experienced guides will take care of your safety. You bring an adventurous mind and good footwear for trekking. Please note that the trip is unsuitable for those suffering from claustrophobia or restricted movement.

DAY 5:
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. The airport bus (NOK 60 – not included) leaves from the hotel reception approx. 1 3⁄4 hrs before flight departure (please check correct time with the hotel)
